Shobhnaben Champuji Thakor comes from a small village, Fatepura-Gadh, in Satlasana taluka of Mehsana district. Like many daughters of rural India, she carried silent dreams—dreams of becoming self-reliant and lifting her family’s burden. Her family’s limited means often made her feel that independence was a distant reality.

But destiny gave her a new path when she came across the DDU-GKY training program at Ganpat University, Kherva. For Shobhnaben, this was more than just a course—it was the key to unlocking her true potential.

She joined the Automotive Accessory Fitter trade, where she not only gained technical skills but also learned computer literacy, communication, and English language basics. Living and learning alongside peers at the university, she discovered self-confidence she had never known before. What touched her deeply was the support system—free accommodation, nutritious meals, uniforms, and books—all provided so that students like her could learn without worry.

After completing her six-month training, Shobhnaben’s determination bore fruit. On 12th April 2024, she was offered a position at Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. in Mandal, Ahmedabad. Her first salary of ₹19,750 filled her with pride and tears of joy. For the first time, she was able to stand tall, not just for herself but for her family too.

With heartfelt gratitude, she says:

I always tell everyone—if you work hard and stay committed to your dreams, nothing is impossible. Ganpat University and the DDU-GKY program gave me the wings to fly.”

Today, Shobhnaben is not just an employee—she is a symbol of courage, empowerment, and transformation. Her story proves that when opportunities meet determination, even a girl from the remotest village can rewrite her destiny.
