Dr. Ganpat I. Patel, fondly known as “Dada”, is the visionary founder and guiding light of Ganpat University. A highly respected technocrat, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, Dr. Patel dedicated his life to the noble cause of “Social Upliftment through Education”—the very motto of the university.
After achieving remarkable success in the United States, Dr. Patel chose to give back to his homeland, Gujarat, by establishing an institution that would empower rural youth with world-class education, innovation, and opportunities. His generosity and determination led to the creation of Ganpat University in 2005, which today stands as a Centre of Excellence recognized by the Government of Gujarat, with more than 16,000 students on campus and 45,000+ alumni across the globe.
Dr. Patel is known not only as an industrial leader but also as a true humanitarian, having invested his energy, wealth, and vision in building an institution that bridges the gap between industry and academia, rural and urban, local and global. Under his leadership, Ganpat University has flourished into a multidisciplinary hub of excellence with 20+ Centres of Excellence, international collaborations, and a deep commitment to community service through GUNI-CARE.
Today, Dr. Ganpat I. Patel continues to inspire faculty, students, industry partners, and philanthropists to come together and co-create a future where education becomes the strongest pillar of social and economic transformation.
Dr. Mahendra Sharma is a distinguished academic leader, policy advisor, and institution builder, presently serving as the Group Pro-Chancellor of Ganpat University. With a career spanning over three decades, he has been instrumental in transforming Ganpat University into a globally recognized Centre of Excellence, aligning education with industry, community, and national development goals.
A visionary with strong roots in academia and research, Dr. Sharma has led numerous initiatives that connect education, CSR, research, and social impact. He has pioneered partnerships with global universities, industries, and philanthropic organizations, positioning Ganpat University as a leader in innovation, skill development, and sustainable development initiatives.
His work extends beyond university administration Dr. Sharma is a mentor to faculty, a guide to students, and a strategic partner for industries and governments. He strongly advocates for education as a strategic investment for building Viksit Bharat @2047, emphasizing inclusivity, sustainability, and employability.
Known for his thought leadership and policy contributions, Dr. Sharma has represented the university on national and international platforms, influencing higher education reforms and industry-academia collaborations. Under his guidance, Ganpat University has strengthened its reputation for academic excellence, social responsibility, and global outreach.
Today, Dr. Mahendra Sharma continues to inspire the GUNI community to move forward with the spirit of innovation, compassion, and nation-building.
